Sharjah Police Boost Security, Traffic Patrols for Eid Al Adha
Eid Al Adha preparations in Sharjah have been bolstered by Sharjah Police’s announcement of an extensive security and traffic management plan to ensure public safety during the holiday. More patrols will be increased throughout the emirate, particularly near mosques, markets, beaches, and entertainment venues, the authorities said.
The security plan involves deployment of increased police presence, traffic closely monitored from the central operations room, with a quick response field security team to deal with any emergencies and prevent disruption of festive activities. The preparations were finished in coordination with various departments, with the aim of ensuring smooth traffic flow and public safety throughout the emirate, Brigadier Omar Al Ghazal, Director-General of the General Department of Operations and Security Support at Sharjah Police, said.
The officials also announced that the traffic police would be more vigilant in the area to ease the traffic jams around the prayer grounds, shopping centres, and recreation spots. The Sharjah Police announced that it will keep on conducting operations against illegal parking and begging during the holiday season and will be more severe on reckless driving and disturbances in residential areas. Homeowners should take steps to secure their homes before they travel during the holidays and should be warned not to leave valuables unattended.
Public Safety Measures During Eid Holidays
Sharjah Police will also conduct more awareness-raising campaigns on child safety at beaches and swimming areas during Eid Al Adha. Parents have been advised not to leave children unattended at busy recreational sites. Authorities emphasized these measures are in the context of an overall approach to ensure the safety of life and property during the holiday season.
Sharjah Police urged the public to follow the safety tips and call 999 to help with emergencies, and 901 for non-emergency numbers. The new system of enhanced patrols is to ensure a safe and smooth holiday experience for residents and visitors in Sharjah, authorities said.
