Dubai Declares Five-Day Holiday for Eid Al Adha
The UAE government has officially declared Eid Al Adha holiday for Government Departments and Public Sector staff in Dubai. The Dubai Government Human Resources Department said that the five-day holiday will run from Monday, May 25, 2026, to Friday, May 29, 2026. Government offices all over the emirate will be operational from Monday, June 1. The announcement is made as residents prepare to travel, hold family gatherings, and celebrate Eid in the UAE.
Arafat Day is another of the most significant days on the Islamic calendar, celebrated during the holidays. Several public institutions and the Federal Government will remain closed for the holiday, authorities said. The extended holiday is likely to bring more tourists, hotel market demand, and airline demand to the UAE.
The UAE residents are already preparing for their holidays and staycations during this lengthy holiday. Shopping malls, entertainment, and tourist attractions are also cooking up special Eid offers and family activities in advance of the festivities.
Schools and Travel Plans During Eid
Dubai’s private schools will also be shut during the Eid Al Adha holiday, with students and teachers getting a few days off before academic work restarts in nearby emirates. The full timetables will probably be issued by the education authorities nearer the time of the holidays.
With many residents looking forward to international travel as a longer break from the normal flight schedule approaches, travel experts say there will be a major uptick in bookings. UAE tourists are likely to have high demand for popular destinations such as Saudi Arabia, Turkey, Georgia, and the Maldives. In the meantime, hotels and resorts have been busy creating packages for Eid to draw families to them and their local holiday offers.
Authorities have urged residents to pay attention to any updates on traffic and travel during the peak travel season of Eid, particularly around the airports, highways, and popular tourist destinations.
