Dubai Expands Green Spaces by 300,000 Square Metres in Just Three Months

Green Spaces

As part of Dubai’s constant development efforts and its ambition to create a city where sustainable living is the norm, Dubai has created an additional 300,000 square metres of new Green Spaces in the city in just three months. The extension is comprised of open spaces, public parks, roadside greenery and community spaces created in each zone of the residential and commercial districts.

Dubai Municipality says that the new projects will focus on making Dubai a more sustainable city, expanding the available public green spaces and making Dubai more visually pleasing. It was also uncovered that during development phase, thousands of trees and plants are also being planted to support Dubai’s long-term green initiatives.

Overall, the new landscaping project will contribute to Dubai’s ongoing efforts to become a more sustainable and eco-friendly city, enhancing the quality of life for its residents and visitors. The projects also offer residents in the community a cooling effect, improve air quality, and encourage activities outside of the building, according to officials.

Dubai Continues Investment in Green Spaces

In the Emirate of Dubai, the Municipality has been working tirelessly to continue the campaign for the development of more parks, gardens and landscaped roads across the emirate. The new Green Spaces are expected to support the efforts towards sustainability in Dubai, and be aligned with environmental efforts towards greener and beautiful infrastructure.

The City has recently started to encourage the development of pedestrian plazas, public walkways and shaded recreation areas. These projects are thought to improve the quality of life in the City and create more family-friendly and attractive communities.

To overcome the environmental challenges and beautification needs of the city due to the rising urban population, Dubai has undertaken various environmental and beautification initiatives during the last few years. In recent years, Dubai has been taking several steps to promote environmental and beautification programmes as the emirate strives to create balance between the speed of urban growth and sustainability. City officials say there are more landscaping and public park projects planned in the coming months as part of the city’s plans for development.
