The UAE authorities are undertaking a major redevelopment project on the waterfront of Al Rams, Ras Al Khaimah, to create tourism, recreation and community living. The overall purpose of the project is to improve infrastructure in the coastal region and offer improved facilities to inhabitants and visitors of the region.

The redevelopment plan will include a rejuvenated waterfront, 2 kilometres long, organised in pedestrian walkways, cycling trails, green space, public plaza and parks, and parking areas. The project is to create a modern and family-friendly spot that will retain its natural shoreline beauty, officials said.
